Annett Reimer
Reimer's main practice addresses the relationship between body, place and memory. Throughout her imagery she makes use of a surrealistic language to explore femininity, sexuality and loss. The female body is fragmented and dismembered, fracturing the power of the photographic gaze. Reimer is inspired by the location of my photographic performance where she uses myself as a subject. The location of the work holds high importance as does the performance, the locations used is of high personal value. Reimer's performances as quiet, yet powerful evocations of a hidden unknown.The techniques utilized are mainly based around medium format digital camera systems as this allows more postproduction possibilities to realize the projects.
